Voices wanted for puppets!

Description:

Director: John Bush. Greetings one and all,
My name is John Bush and I live in Farnham in Surrey.
I am currently developing comedy ideas involving dolls and puppets. I am at a stage where the poor little things are in need of a selection of voice characterisations, ranging across regional accents, different age/ranges and demographics, and downright silly voices.
If you can point me to any voice samples you may have on the net, or email me something similar to give me a clue of your abilities, that would be splendid.
The idea is to get together with interested folks informally to read scripts aloud, workshop and try a little improvisation, with a view to recording at a later date. (I have my own mobile recording equipment)
I’m afraid I don’t have a budget to give you millions of pounds, but I do have coffee, biscuits and dolls...
This project will be fun, interesting, challenging, and something a little bit unusual that you can stick on to your CV and add to your dramatic experiences thus far.
If your curiosity has been tickled, get in touch and I’ll tell you more.
petalstar@gmail.com or 0798 166 7475 will both find me.
The finished product will end up on YouTube, but will also be put on DVD to send to production companies and agents and so on.
So, over to you...
John Bush

ACTOR WANTED For FELLSWOOP THEATRE

Bristol
FellSwoop Theatre are looking to cast a male actor in the ensemble driven adaptation of 'Belleville Rendez-vous' which has just returned from its sell-out run both at Edinburgh Fringe and its transfer to the Pleasance Theatre, London. Following this, Belleville is now touring a number of theatres between January 5th - 7th Jan and 22nd Jan - February 14th 2011. With availability needed for potentially more dates wk 27th Feb and wk 12th March.
Belleville was orginally devised by a cast of 12 and uses physical theatre, puppetry and live music. We are therefore looking for a performer who can contribute to a strong and imaginative devising team, and who displays ability and enthusiasm towards dance, mime and music. It would also be a bonus if you lived in Bristol.
However, if you do not consider yourself a movement-based performer, please do not let this deter you from auditioning. We are not interested in casting a trained dancer, our priority is to find someone who work well within our cast and the style of the piece and so we are looking for physical commitment and rhythm in the performance.

The audition will consist of a workshop on Saturday 3rd December at The Wardrobe Theatre 4.30-6pm. All those considering the role must be available to rehearse the week 16th-22nd December 2011, and 2-4th January 2012, and for the duration of the touring dates mentioned above.
The fee for the entire run would be £250, and in addition all travel and accommodation for the tour dates will be paid for. Plus any fundraising, workshops and profit will be divided by the cast.

For more information about Belleville Rendez-vous or FellSwoop Theatre check out our website (www.fellswooptheatre.com), and you can follow this link to watch a showreel from Belleville's first performance at the Warwick Arts Centre (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyDwhR5JGlQ)

If you are interested in auditioning please email Jesse Meadows at fellswooptheatre@gmail.com with your current CV.

Thank you!

Thriller Live is a UK production that celebrates the life and career of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. Now, the show is seeking dancers by holding a global audition on Facebook.
To audition, participants simply upload their video on the Thriller Live Facebok page, demonstrating ‘techniques, tricks, versatility and style’ in their dance routine. Visitors can then browse the audition tapes and vote for their favorite.

CASTING CALL -

Casting call location:  Amersham Arms in New Cross
Date: 29 November 2011

Rehearsal: 6 December (could be amended)
Shoots: 17 and 18 December

Payment: Low/no/deferred basis.
Director: Dan Duran.

LaLacuna is a small collective of film crew talent, based in New Cross. Most of the team have film production related qualifications from illustrious London film schools including Goldsmith’s.
The team has already presented a short film at the Bradford International Film Festival which was screened before the UK première of Noah Baumbach's Greenburg.

Currently we are in preproduction for a short film called Town Of Figure Eight, a thirty-minute piece that comprises several interconnected short stories linked to an overall theme.
The film presents a series of stories about the inhabitants of the Town of Figure Eight. The stories are linked by the narrator, Scott, who sits in a train on a circuitous, figure eight, journey watching the lives and quotidian activities of others through a window.
When the train stops, a new story begins …
One of the tales that Scott sees is: ‘Lokomotiv’.
A disfigured teenage boy called Mickels sits in his bedroom and feels watched. His isolation is self-imposed but one night he is coaxed to come out – the viewer is asked to consider whether the involvement of the town is altruistic or self-interested.

2 breakdowns:
MALE 18/24 - any ethnicity
MICKELS is eighteen / nineteen. Tall, thin. Would be eternally boyish to the very end ...except the left side of his face is disfigured. He only has the one eye. The other has a shadow cast over it. Even in the sanctuary of his own room he feels watched; it is not a castle, it is a self made prison, and he is very, very reluctant to leave it. He loves the Russian football team Lokomotiv Moscow and is very good at boiling water on a wood burning stove.

MALE 18/24 - any ethnicity
PETE is also eighteen / nineteen, but is stronger; much more confidant than MICKELS,but still young and unsure of what the future could hold - but you would never know. With him, it's all about the jump, not the look. I think they call that the certainty of youth. He too loves football, not the unseeable Lokomotiv Moscow, but the local team. He loves the physicality of the doing, not the watching. He is of average height, around 5”9 and is sturdy, not stocky and looks nearly the man, not the boy.
